Rental Terms
1. This rental agreement is not a rent-to-own plan. The instrument you are renting is not for sale.

2. All rentals from Annapolis Bows & Violins (ABV) include the instrument, bow, case, rosin, shoulder sponge, and cleaning cloth. Each rental instrument is set up by an ABV workshop luthier with new strings, new bow hair, and is in good repaired condition when it leaves the shop. Any additional accessories must be purchased separately.

3. The initial payment to begin a rental at ABV is the prorated monthly fee + a $20, one-time, non-refundable start fee.

4. Maintenance & Protection
Renters are encouraged to practice good instrument maintenance habits. Every ABV rental includes a complimentary check up, string change, and bow rehair/replacement, every 12 months. All of ABV’s rental instruments are taken care of by the ABV workshop. If there are any issues with the rental instrument, bring it to the ABV in a timely manner and we will repair or replace it for no additional charge. ABV will repair any defects due to manufacturing or materials free of charge.
This coverage and maintenance does not include broken bridges or broken strings. This coverage does not apply in cases of loss; theft; willful and/or total destruction; or home DIY repairs of the instrument, bow, or case. If the instrument, bow, or case is deemed “damaged beyond repair,” the renter is responsible for the cost of up to the total retail price of the instrument, bow, or case. You hereby agree Annapolis Bows & Violins is authorized to assess the instrument for repairs any time an instrument or bow is returned or exchanged.

5. Exchange
You may exchange your rental instrument for the next size up at any time, with a one-time instrument-trade-up-fee of $20. A new rental agreement may be required to be signed at the time of the exchange. Any expenses, shipping charges, including insurance, associated with an exchange of instruments are your responsibility. Rental credit accumulates monthly and is not affected by size exchanges.
6. Return You may return the instrument at any time. There will be no full or partial refund if the instrument is returned during a month that has already been paid for on the 1st of the month.

7. Rental Credit
- 100% of your monthly rental fee will build store credit for the first 12 months of renting. (This does not include Maryland Sales Tax.)
- Rental credit may be used at any time toward up to 50% of the purchase of a retail instrument or bow at ABV.
- Credit will continue to accumulate during the first 12 months even if the rental is traded for a new size or instrument.
- A maximum of 12 months rental credit may be applied toward the purchase of instruments, regardless of how long the instrument has been rented.
- Rental credit from multiple contracts may not be combined, even if the contracts are within a family, individual, or account.
- Rental credit must be used within 30 days of cessation of the contract, and unused rental credit will be forfeit after that time.
- Rental credit may not be used to pay for past-due rent or fees and costs associated with delinquency or repair.

8. Billing
You agree to provide a valid credit card number which all rental fees will be charged for the duration of the contract. Monthly payments will be charged in advance, on the 1st day of each calendar month, to the supplied credit card until the instrument is returned. You are responsible for maintaining a valid credit card number with ABV. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of this contract, forfeit of all rental credit, and/or possible fees associated with collections of the debt incurred. ABV reserves the right to charge rent with the payment method on file any time during the calendar month of the payment due date. Monthly rental fees are charged in advance and no refunds are issued for rental accounts already billed. All rentals are subject to 6% Maryland tax.

9. Delinquency
You shall be liable for all rental fees on balances over 30 days past due and any other costs resulting from the enforcement of the terms of this contract. These costs may include but are not limited to: shipping charges, attorney fees, collection fees and/or court costs. Should you default on three consecutive monthly payments, then this contract is deemed defaulted and any accumulated rental credit forfeit. Defaulted accounts may be referred to collection or legal action. ABV shall be entitled to take possession of the instrument at any location where the instrument may be found, with or without your knowledge. In the event an ABV representative travels to repossess a rental outfit, travel fees will incur to you based on travel and labor expense (minimum $35 fee) as determined by ABV. In cases of non-payment, you are also liable for the full retail value of the instrument, and ABV reserves the right to charge said purchase price to any payment method on file.

10. In the event there are changes to your address, phone number, email, or credit card(s) on file, you agree to contact ABV within 10 days with the new information.
